Welcome visitors! I'm Gretchen, the person behind the monsters. I've been making some kind of art since I was too little to know what I was getting myself into.

After working 30+ years creating art for other folks, I finally got the opportunity to create for myself. The monsters were waiting -- ready to leap forth and escape the limited confines of my head and venture out into the unsuspecting world of people. Guardian Monsters, Baby Monsters, Midnight Monsters - you name it, they all came pouring out, happily splattering their likenesses across my drawing paper. My problem was NOT in finding enough to draw, but rather keeping "them" under control, allowing them to step politely into existence, a few at a time, instead of bursting forth and knocking me senseless in the process.

It was not easy. In fact, several are, at this very minute, scrabbling around "inside" seeking a way out, making it rather difficult to concentrate. (sigh)
